Caleb Cowan, of Cowan & Co. The Hair Studio in Glasgow, KY, recently transformed a client who wanted a whole new look. Says Cowan, "In the words of Eleanor Roosevelt, 'Do one thing everyday that scares you…' and that is exactly what we did! With 2014/2015 being deemed the year of 'THE CHOP,' we couldn’t just stop there - we wanted to give her a color that would be as equally fun!" Below, he shares how he created the look (our most recent Hairstyle of the Week!), from inspirations to final result!

Says Cowan, "When [the guest] came in, her natural base color was a very warm 7/8 dark blonde. Wanting to richen her color, I applied Goldwell TopChic 6KG using 10 volume from roots to ends and processed for 30 minutes.
"While the color was processing, I hand-painted some lighter pieces throughout the top using Rusk Deep Blue Shine Lightener with 10 vol. developer. The dimensional Copper Gold outcome from using this formula on her gave me the perfect amount of depth and vibrancy I was looking for that simply glowed on her ivory skin tone.
"Being a teacher, this client shared that she was [also] looking for a professional new cut, [and] was inspired by looks such as Jennifer Lawrence and Julianne Hough. Going from super-long, layered locks to this short chop was a shock for sure, but too fun, sassy, and low-maintenance for her not to love. Hair makeover success!"
