How-To: NYFW FW 24 Hair Looks From Altuzarra x FEKKAI x Jawara

On February 11, 2024, ALTUZARRA hosted a runway show for their Fall/Winter 2024 collection in celebration of the brand’s fifteen year anniversary.

“A lot has changed over the last fifteen years,” Joseph Altuzarra wrote in the show notes, “but one thing remains the same: Altuzarra is personal. It is about family, friends and community.”

The hair looks were created by international hairstylist Jawara using FEKKAI best-sellers and latest innovations, complementing Altuzarra’s vision of modern femininity and undone elegance with a French flair.

"The inspiration for these hair looks came from looking at some equestrian pictures in a semi-bourgeoisie, downtown way. We mixed both worlds together – the old and the new, and this is what we came up with," Jawara shares. 

"For the hair look this season, I wanted to evoke the feeling of something effortless and undone, almost like a chignon that had unraveled over the course of the day, or a hastily put together ponytail after a shower," Altuzarra adds. "We tailored this idea to each girl and their own cuts and personalities to create an overall feeling of individual expression and celebration."

Mane Volume & Loose Knotted Ends

1. Prep the hair with FEKKAI Clean Stylers Root Lift Volumizing Spray distributing evenly through hair.
2. Give the hair a rough dry, and over direct with a brush to create volume.
3. Work in sections, spraying the FEKKAI Clean Stylers Root Lift Volumizing Spray, then blow dry the hair up and out. Then lightly brush back.
4. Continue to gather and brush hair back while spraying the FEKKAI Full Blown Volume Dry Texturizing Spray. Then lightly smooth out hair on the sides to give it a more structured look.
5. Curl ends for 2-3 seconds with a curling iron to add a loose texture. Gather hair and twist to give it more shape, then hit it with a blast of FEKKAI Full Blown Volume Dry Texturizing Spray.
6. Blow dry and smooth out sides with a brush and a bit of FEKKAI Clean Stylers Volume Lock Hairspray
7. for added texture and hold. Then lightly diffuse.
8. Once texture is created, gather hair and create a low knot. Then secure it with a small U-pin. Hit the ends with FEKKAI Full Blown Volume Dry Texturizing Spray for additional texture and volume.
9. Pull out a few pieces and use iron to curl while spraying them up to give the look an undone-type finish. Hit with one last blast of FEKKAI Full Blown Volume Dry Texturizing Spray.

1. Gather braids and create a low knot.Secure with a small U-pin.
2. Hit the very ends with FEKKAI Full Blown Volume Dry Texturizing Spray for additional texture and volume.

Textured Bob

1. Prep the hair with FEKKAI Clean Stylers Prime Mist distributing evenly through hair.
2. Part hair down the middle and give it a rough dry, then brush back.
3. Rub a dime size of the FEKKAI Clean Stylers Glossing Cream+ in palms and smooth throughout hair, scrunching at the ends to create an undone look.
4. Smooth out the sides with a small pump of the FEKKAI Super Strength+ Everstrong Bonding Oil to control flyaways and for added shine.
5. Then hit ends with the FEKKAI Full Blown Volume Dry Texturizing Spray for added texture.
6. Finish with a blast of FEKKAI Clean Stylers Flexi-Hold Hairspray to hold in place.

Sleek Bob

1. Prep the hair with FEKKAI Clean Stylers Prime Mist distributing evenly through hair.
2. Distribute FEKKAI Clean Stylers Glossing Cream+ through hair and brush back.
3. Continue to smooth out sides using a brush and  FEKKAI Clean Stylers Glossing Cream+.
4. Then hit the entire head with the FEKKAI Clean Stylers Flexi-Hold Hairspray to hold in place.

Neat Pixie

1. Prep the hair with FEKKAI Clean Stylers Root Lift Volumizing Spray distributing evenly through hair.
2. Blow out hair while brushing and continue until dry.
3. Use a dime size of the FEKKAI Super Strength+ Everstrong Bonding Oil and smooth through hair while shaping.
4. Brush hair behind ears and back and hit the final look with some FEKKAI Clean Stylers Flexi-Hold Hairspray to hold.
