Actress Chloe Bennet has debuted a new bob hair cut as part of her role in “Interior Chinatown” for Hulu.

Based on the novel by Charles Yu, Bennet will play Detective Lana Lee, who is described as self-aware, compelling and enigmatic.

Celebrity hairstylist Matthew Collins (@matthewstylist) created Bennet’s new look for the role and shared all the details of how he brought her bob to life.

“Chloe has always been known for her long beautiful hair, so when she asked me to come over for a cut, I really thought it was just a trim,” says Collins. “Then she told me she needed a new, drastic change for a new amazing role she has.”

Collins adds that he and Bennet wanted to go for a “chic ‘cool girl’ bob” to match the time period the series is set in – the 90s.

“We didn’t want much movement or texture. We wanted it to be full and blunt to be styled either flipped out or with 90s blow out vibes,” Collins dishes. “We first did a big dramatic 5-inch chop off for fun. Then, I went in and took my time cutting in small sections blunt but with small shallow bits of texture on the ends. We wanted it to be blunt but not broom stick blunt. Especially when she moves and is being filmed from all angles, you don’t want to see any harsh lines.”

Collins shared a reel to his Instagram to reveal Bennet’s transformation that you can see below.

“Her reaction said it all, and she was obsessed with it. It’s probably something she never would have done by herself but she’s in love,” Collins says. “To be honest, we chatted about when filming is over, going even shorter.”

Will you be watching Bennet in “Interior Chinatown”? The series does not yet have a release date, but we are highly anticipating seeing Bennet’s new hairdo on-screen.
