Watch! Create The Infinity Braid

Infinitybraid2

Working with other stylists is so inspiring – it continues to fuel creative juices, so when Redken Artist Ellen Devine shared her Infinity Braid with Sam Villa, founder of Sam Villa and Education Artistic Director for Redken 5th Avenue NYC, he wanted to share it to inspire others too. Check out the tutorial video, plus step-by-step directions to create the look, below!

Get the Look:

  1. Prep hair with the Sam Villa Signature Series Textur Professional Texturizing Iron to increase the thickness of hair (resulting in a thicker braid) and to ensure the braid does not fall out throughout the day.
  2. Gather hair into a low ponytail and split it in half down the center. Hold one part with the right hand and the other with the left. Similar to a fishtail braid, take a small section of hair from the right side and cross it over the right section directly next to it.
  3. Cross the hair under the left section and wrap it around and over the left section. Then take it under and around the right section, in a figure 8 pattern.
  4. Continue by crossing the same section of hair over the right section, under the left section, then over the left section and back under the right section. When hair runs out, pick up from the outside of either section and add it to the original section and continue the figure 8 pattern, repeating and adding hair as needed until the end. Tie off with a hair elastic.
