Sam Villa Creates Fundraiser for PBA Covid-19 Relief Fund

Sam Villa Socialathon

On Sunday, May 17, 2020, stylist Sam Villa is bringing famous friends together as Hairdressers Supporting Hairdressers to unite for live education and inspiration for stylists who are struggling. The fundraising event will benefit the PBA COVID-19 Relief Fund. Stylists are encouraged to register at samvilla.com/socialathon. Consumers can support too by donating!

Since the salon industry was one of the hardest hit by the global pandemic, the Professional Beauty Association established the COVID-19 Relief Fund to provide small cash donations to salon workers in immediate financial distress during mandated closure in hot spots or to prepare safety measures while social distancing is in effect. The Sam Villa company has contributed over $25K to the relief fund so far, and with a little help from their friends, hopes to raise much more.

The all-star lineup of industry legends, inspirational stylists and mentors includes, X-Presion, Robert Lobetta, Matty Conrad, Larisa Love, Anthony Mascolo, Tabatha Coffey, Matt Swinney, Chelsea Vonne James, Marco Arena, Mark Bustos, Antoinette Beenders, Sonya Dove, Ruth Roche, Candy Shaw, Vivienne Mackinder, Gerard Scarpaci, Ammon Carver, Ludovic Beckers, Chris Baran, Chrystofer Benson and Stephen Moody!

“I’ve never felt a greater need to collectively reach out to such an important group of friends and call for unified action to support our industry. The circumstances we’re in are unprecedented and we all hope to do what we can to help the most at-risk salon professionals,” explains Villa.

The SOCIALATHON is free on Sunday May 17 from 10:00 am to 11:30 pm Eastern. Each guest will have 30 minutes to teach and share. Most will focus on professional hair tips and techniques, and some have words of wisdom and inspiration. Throughout the broadcast, there will be a “Donate Now” button on both the YouTube and Facebook platforms for viewers to donate funds directly to PBA’s COVID-19 Relief Fund. There will also be a counter to provide a real-time total of donation amounts received.

“I believe this is going to encourage and uplift hairdressers as they shelter at home and look to social media for inspiration and support as they prepare for what salon and barber services will look like in the future,” adds Villa. “We can get through this together and be better than ever!”
