Hairstylist and salon owner Adam Sculnick was inspired by "the idea of a girl with a rock and roll edge who grew up, took off the leather jacket, and put on a gown" when creating his latest collection, Elegant Edge. The rocker-meets-glamazon vibe is clearly seen throughout the collection, where rich, vibrant reds "walk the line between classic/conventional and contemporary/edgy."
In creating his vision, Sculnick also found inspiration in his own life. "I drew a lot on my experiences as a teenager being a part of the grunge rock and roll scene," he says. "With the connectedness of social media, I’ve been able to watch the girls I was in that click with grow up, find jobs, change their hair and clothes and become more 'polished' -- but you can still see that rocker energy in the way they portray themselves online."
The Elegant Edge hairstyles complement this theme of duality. A precise, pulled-back ponytail gives way to voluminous, free-flying ends; sleek, polished strands reveal a pop of texture via subtle, strategic crimping; a sculpted style is both polished and wild. While wearable, the looks have a distinct punk vibe -- the perfect blend of elegance and edge.
