“Lydia is a natural blonde,” says Papanikolas, “so it’s important to use a demi color, such as Matrix Color Sync, which deposits the perfect amount of red color for her and reduces fading. It’s also easy to touch up the color and add dimension. While the root color is processing, I hand paint a few balayage highlights to the mid-shaft and ends before glossing with Matrix SOBOOST. This gives a soft shimmer and movement to the color.”
