John Paul DeJoria on ABC's Shark Tank

Tune into ABC’s Shark Tank tonight to catch John Paul DeJoria, co-founder of Paul Mitchell Hair Care and Patrón Spirits, and the self-dubbed “serial entrepreneur,” as he dives into the tank as a guest Shark.

Shark Tank, a reality TV series featuring six, "tough, self-made, multi-millionaire and billionaire tycoons," offers aspiring entrepreneurs a chance to obtain investments in their ideas as they detail their plans, business concepts and potential products. According to Tom Shales of the Washington Post, the show focuses on the hope that can be found even despite "the desperation and pain experienced by victims of a broken-down economy."

DeJoria’s rags-to-riches story is a classic tale of the "American Dream." Once homeless, DeJoria struggled against his circumstances and less than favorable odds in order to achieve success. With only $700 and an idea, he started Paul Mitchell, now known as the largest, privately-held salon hair care brand. He later turned another passion into an incredible success by co-founding Patrón, the world’s No. 1 ultra-premium tequila. With the motto that “success unshared is failure,” John Paul will join the Sharks to pay it forward, providing promising entrepreneurs the chance to turn their dreams into reality by making an investment in their future.

Watch John Paul on Shark Tank tonight at 9pm/8pm CST on ABC (check local listings), and follow him on Twitter @johnpauldejori1 as he live-tweets throughout the show.
