Australian hairdresser Philip Barwick celebrates the beauty of feminine strength.
The women don’t just glow in the Land Down Under—at least, not the women in Philip Barwick’s latest collection, HERstory. His women are strong, a force to be reckoned with, much like Australia itself. “For this collection, I wanted to focus on the strength of women throughout history, but not downplay their sexuality,” explains Barwick, who says he was influenced by the world of runway. “I wanted to create a dark mood with a touch of gothic loneliness. It strikes me that even though the world sometimes shuns these women for their strength, they never stray from their chosen path.”
