HairWars 2019 Raises $12,000 for Animal Welfare

26bfae56 F9c4 4637 Aa0e 8ede3322f03aOn May 10, 2019, four Northern California salons competed in a runway show like no other: HairWars. This annual event celebrates local salon talent and raises money for animal welfare charities. This year, attendees and participants raised more than $12,000 for Norcal Bully Breed Rescue, an organization that helps rescue and foster pit bulls, and Hartsong Sanctuary, an animal sanctuary that houses neglected, abused and unadoptable horses and farm animals.

Stylists from Federico Beauty Academy, Halon Salon, Hair Gone Wild and Shear Attitude & Color Envy Salon competed at the Morgan Creek Golf Club in Roseville, California, creating literal hair-raising coifs that stunned the audience. While all looks were amazing, there could only be one winner: Shear Attitude & Color Envy Salon from Fair Oaks, California. Their Ghostbusters-themed creations wowed the crowd and helped them clinch the title. "It's like we're a hair show dream team," exclaims stylist Theresa Wilson. "We all have super skills in an area that others don't. I think of it as a perfect balance of creative, artistic, technical, left field, creepy and 'meh, it's pretty.'"
