Hair News: 2013 BASHA Winners Announced

The Bay Area Student Hairstyling Awards (BASHA) celebrates the artistry and skill of fresh talent in the beauty industry. Students are recognized in 3 categories of excellence during an awards ceremony. BASHA was founded by Nicole Hitchcock and Nina Husen, of NH2 SALON. The San Francisco Bay area event offers unlimited networking, education and professional growth opportunities within the beauty industry.

Celebrating 3 unique categories, each of the 11 finalists put hours of work into their entries. This years guest judge, "Nhi," Creative Director of Sassoon Academy joined Nicole Hitchcock and Nina Husen to select the 2013 San Francisco Bay Area Student Hairdressers of the Year.

Winners of this year's BASHA Awards received a $500 cosmetology school tuition grant courtesy of NH2 salon, pair of Matsuzaki shears courtesy of SHEAR WORLD, an Aluminite blow dryer courtesy of Cricket Co. Shape winner, Tyler Bui received a 3-day ABC Cutting Course courtesy of Sassoon Academy. Over $4000 of prizes and grants were awarded.

100% of this year's BASHA Awards proceeds went to benefit Hairdresser with Heart, NH2's non-profit that pairs cancer patients with stylists across the United States. NH2 has raised over $18,000 so for in 2013 for Hairdressers with Heart.
