Matrix artistic director, Daniel Roldan, recently styled Dancing With the Stars’ Peta Murgatroyd, giving the dancer a pretty wraparound Dutch braid. Equal parts elegant and effortless, the look is perfect for your clients’ upcoming holiday parties and events. Recreate the style in the salon with Roldan’s how-to, below.

Get the Look:

  1. Apply Matrix Oil Wonders Volume Rose Mousse to mid-length and ends of damp hair and rough-dry.
  2. Once dry, spray Matrix Style Link Heat Buffer and softly micro-crimp the hair. Crimping the hair allows for controlled texture, gives it a thicker feeling and better hold when braiding.
  3. Create a side part in the hair and begin Dutch braiding along the hairline. Continue until all hair is braided. Secure with pins, pull and expand, or “pancake” the braid. Lock in with Matrix Style Link Style Fixer Finishing Hairspray.
