Mizani global artistic director, Cesar DeLeon Ramirez, recently styled Mariah Carey for her performance at The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration. To complement her sparkly, bejeweled gown, Ramirez created gorgeous, cascading waves that were equal parts soft, feminine and glam.

Get the Look:
- First Ramirez started on clean, dry hair and created a part using a one-inch ghd round brush and ghd blow dryer after using Mizani Thermastrength to prevent heat damage and add shine.
- Once the part was in place, he curled the front section. To curl, Ramirez clamped and rotated each section toward the face once, then wrapped the rest of the section around the barrel with his fingers. Tip: to achieve old Hollywood waves, use sections the same size as the barrel of your curling iron.
- He then secured each section with a clip to ensure memory as the hair cooled. Once cooled, Ramirez let the curls down, and brushed through them with a Mason Pearson brush.
- To create more volume throughout the ends, he back-combed lightly underneath and brushed through the top. With his hands, he formed the waves and used Mizani HRM to set them in place.
