For Linda Sanderson and team’s breathtaking compilation, Beauty from the East, the 30-plus years pro-beauty vet took inspiration from one of the stylists who works at her salon. “Jion Meang is the muse of this collection and my salon sister,” enthuses Sanderson, who owns Shear Image salon in Brea, California. “As a Korean, Jion wanted to re-create the beauty of her heritage and the women of her culture—aspects we wished to capture in our shoot. We sought to visualize how Korean women would style themselves 200 years ago, but put a contemporary lens on it.” The end result is a graceful celebration of beauty that’s simultaneously delicate and bold. Continues Sanderson, “We wanted our looks to embody couture sophistication and grace.”
