Threading Guru Antoinette Haynes Offers Online Education Courses

Threading

The art of threading is said to originate from the Middle East thousands of years ago, but it wasn’t until the 20th century that the hair-removal practice became popular in the West. Said to be more precise than waxing, the technique utilizes inexpensive cotton thread that’s twisted and rolled along the surface of the skin, entwining the hairs and lifting them out from the follicle. Traditionally, threading is used on the entire face—including upper lip, chin, eyebrows, sideburns and cheeks—but it can also be used anywhere on the body, including the arms, legs and bikini area.

Interested in adding threading to your service menu? Online education platform Salon Gurus introduces Threading 101 – A Mini Course to its extensive list of online education programs. Taught by threading guru Antoinette Haynes, an esthetician at Serenity Suite Skin Care in Greensboro, North Carolina, the short video course gives beauty pros an overview of the art of threading. “It’s a great introduction for those thinking of adding this skill set to their menu of services,” says Haynes.

For those looking to take their threading skills to the next level, Haynes also recently upgraded her Fundamentals of Threading – Unleashed course. The comprehensive training program features four modules and presents a certificate to those who complete the requirements. Additionally, Haynes holds small, hands-on training classes for beauty professionals at her location or travels to teach onsite at salons and spas where students are taught how to get set up for practice. Says Haynes, “I want professionals to be service-ready when leaving these classes.”
