David C. Chung, serial entrepreneur and founder of FARMACY Beauty, 3LAB, Cosmetic World and Englewood Lab, has now started this new venture called iLABS. Chung created iLABS to satisfy the needs of today’s evolving beauty industry, based on his deep understanding of the challenges facing each of the sectors: retailers, brands, formulators and contract manufacturers.

In addition to talented in-house chemists, iLABS has developed alliances with creative and talented chemists around the world in order to bring the best beauty innovations to the market. iLABS also offers co- working spaces called “WeLabs” where selected chemists can utilize private lab space, equipped with everything they need. “WeLabs was established to create a true ‘think-tank’ for brainstorming and idea sharing,” Chung says. “The core of iLabs is all about R&D and innovation—we do manufacturing, but this concept is to support global innovation, which is the key to our business model.”

iLABS offers one-stop-shop manufacturing based on three distinctive innovation platforms with a full turnkey service option for each:
- Ready-to-launch: A full library of tested and qualified products with low MOQs. These collective global innovations are available through iLABS’ B2B database, allowing beauty brands to select and place orders online.
- Formula optimization: Allows brands to make minor alterations to the Ready-to-launch formulas, for customized service with enhanced speed-to-market.
- Full customization: Fully customized service, with concept and product development, packaging selection, manufacturing, filling and more.
