2024 US Holiday Online Beauty Sales Are Up More than 8% So Far: Adobe Analytics

As of December 3, 2024, U.S. holiday shoppers have spent $4.8 billion on cosmetics, up 8.1% year-over-year, per Adobe Analytics.

The firm noted that total Cyber Monday sales this year across all categories grew 7.3% year-over-year, while Cyber Week, "the five days from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday," was up 8.2% year-over-year.

Per Adobe Analytics, "57% of online sales came through a mobile device on Cyber Monday," a gain of 13.3%, year-over-year.

Buy now, pay later usage jumped 5.5% versus 2023, while the share of affilate and partner sales jumped to 20.3%, a nearly 7% increase year-over-year. The latter figure shows just how powerful social media influencers have become in generating sales, not just attention.

Per Circana, 2024 holiday shoppers plan to spend an average of 2% more than last year, with 29% intending to purchase beauty products as gifts this year. That's up a bit compared to 2023.
