On Tuesday, November 10th, Pureology and 18 of the brand’s talented stylists joined The Bob Woodruff Foundation at their 9th Annual Stand Up For Heroes event at Madison Square Garden to give back for Veteran’s Day.
Leading up to Tuesday night’s sold-out Stand Up For Heroes event, 18 Pureology Pure Artists and stylists from across the country (including Pureology Artistic Ambassador Ruth Roche and Pure Artists Michelle Minor-Patton, Hillary Uhler-Powell and Alicia Popham) donated their time and talent as they spent the day providing the ultimate beauty transformation to 50 deserving women at the Hilton Times Square in New York City. The women flaunted their new looks that evening at the annual event which raised $6.1 million in support of post-9/11 injured service members, veterans and their families.
With these women being wounded veterans, and mothers, wives, sisters and daughters of wounded veterans who have devoted their days to caring for the wounded upon their return home, Pureology was honored to be able to return the favor and give back to the selfless women this Veteran’s Day.
“There was one woman who waited all day to get her hair done. She was so nervous about a stranger doing her hair because she had only ever let two people in her life touch her hair,” says Pureology Artistic Ambassador Ruth Roche. “After I finished with her and she looked in the mirror, she let out the biggest squeal and practically picked me up off of the ground with excitement and gratitude. Moments like that make days like this worth it.”
