  • Lady Gaga's Glamorous Curls

The Look: “Since this is [Lady Gaga's] first nomination for an Oscar, we wanted to create a hair look that was both timeless and glamorous. I created a sculptured but voluminous look that contoured her face and flattered her dress. I wanted a lot of shine and bounce.”
    Stylist: Frederic Aspiras for Pai-Shau

    How-To:

    1. Wash hair with Pai-Shau Replenishing Hair Cleanser and rinse thoroughly.
    2. Apply Pai-Shau Replenishing Cream Conditioner on the mid shaft to the ends. For medium to coarse hair types, Aspiras suggests using Pai-Shau Hydrating Ritual Supreme Revitalizing Mask.
    3. Apply Pai-Shau Biphasic Infusion to towel-blotted hair. Make sure to first shake the bottle to activate the product.
    4. Apply Pai-Shau Royal Abundance Mousse from the roots to the ends.
    5. Blow-dry the hair with a boar bristle round brush making sure that the hair is voluminous and smooth.
  • Amy Adams' Braided Side Part

The Look: A braided side part and loose, romantic waves, inspired by Amy’s gorgeous and sexy Versace gown.
    Stylist: Laini Reeves

    How-To:

    1. Start with wet hair and create a severe side part with a thin comb.
    2. Protect the hair! Apply ABBA Pure Performance Hair Care Thermal Protect Spray from roots to ends.
    3. Next, work ABBA Pure Performance Hair Care Style Spray from roots to ends to create a natural, brush-able hold.
    4. Take a thin section of hair from the shorter side of the part, divide the section in three, and begin to braid. As you continue to braid, add small sections of hair into the braid.
    5. Secure the braid at the nape of the neck with a small bobby pin.
    6. Blow-dry the hair. Then, begin wrapping small sections of hair around a 2-inch curling iron barrel.
    7. Loosen the curls with a flat brush.
    8. Spray ABBA Pure Performance Hair Care Firm Finish Spray to secure the look.
  • Sarah Silverman's Blush Manicure

The Look: Soft, petal-pink nails to complement Sarah's sleek black gown.
    Manicurist: Melissa DeLaCruz

    How-To:

    1. DeLaCruz used Caption Polish's Rough, Tough and in the Buff.
  • Priyanka Chopra's Elegant Ponytail

The Look: “We wanted to create something glamorous and suitable for the red carpet but also very comfortable to wear. Priyanka's dress is so beautiful and angelic, I didn't want to compete with it but rather complement and showcase it.”
    Stylist: Castillo

    How-To:

    1. Start by cleansing & conditioning the hair with S Factor by TIGI Stunning Volume Shampoo & Conditioner to prep the hair for a sleek, voluminous look.
    2. Spray a generous amount of S Factor by TIGI Body Booster Plumping Spray on the roots of damp hair and use a quarter-size dollop of S Factor by TIGI Silky Smooth Moisture Serum on the lengths and ends.
    3. Blow-dry hair focusing on the roots and drying in a downward motion from roots to ends to create volume without frizz. Apply a nickel-size amount of S Factor by TIGI Smoothing Lusterizer to eliminate frizz.

Finish with a mist of S Factor by TIGI Vivacious Hairspray.
  • Rachel McAdams' Chic Updo

The Look: "When I saw the August Getty gown Rachel McAdams was going to wear to the Oscars, I immediately knew that her hair should be up. We both agreed on a clean and sleek look to complement the gorgeous dress."
    Stylist: Mark Townsend

    How-To:

    1. "I started by applying new Dove Regenerative Nourishment Serum-in-Oil to her damp hair to nourish strands and seal the cuticle.
    2. "I then blew her out straight with my Spornette mixed bristle round brush using my trusty ghd air hair dryer.
    3. "Once the hair was fully dry, I went in with my ghd platinum styler and straightened her tresses section by section.
    4. "Next, I sectioned her hair into a deep side part, and coated my hands with John Masters Organics Rosemary and Peppermint Detangler. I used the detangler to give her hair a shiny, almost wet look, and pulled it in the back to create a textured knot.
    5. "Using French hair pins to secure the knot, I created a sleek yet imperfect shape.
    6. "I finished the look by spraying Dove Style+Care Strength & Shine Extra Hold Hairspray all over to set the look and keep any fly-aways down. The end result is classic, modern, and above all, gorgeous.”
  • Daisy Ridley's Sculpted Updo

The Look: "[Daisy's] look is young and cool, and at the same time very modern. For the inspiration, I drew from very structural hair styles, things that were molded organically, with twists and folds, and then the other end of the spectrum – looks that were fashion-forward and crafted in a more technical, architectural way. In the end, I took my favorite parts from each of those looks and combined them together, for a style that was high-end but still fresh. We played off the feeling of her Chanel Couture dress, which had a 1920’s flapper vibe, but didn’t want to be literal with hair down, so we decided to do our own version of that look and apply it to how those girls might wear their hair today. Can I say that it’s badass? That’s how I feel about it!”
Stylist: Robert Vetica for Olivia Garden

    How-To:

    1. "Since Daisy has shoulder length hair, I first incorporated hair pieces to achieve the style, not only for length, but for extra volume as well. When I was prepping the hairpieces, I applied an oil to smooth out the hair and brushed the product through with Olivia Garden’s Divine Care & Style. I like using softer bristles when I’m working with hair pieces, it aids in making sure they have long wear, and also you’re able to keep them longer.
    2. "I then started out by prepping her hair with a heat protectant from roots to end and a bit of volumizer. I brushed that through with Olivia Garden’s Healthy Hair Eco-Friendly Ionic Vented Paddle Brush. All of the natural parts of this brush, help to ensure that the health of hair stays intact, as brushing when wet (if you’re not using the right tools) can leave your hair more susceptible to damage.
    3. "I had Daisy flip her head and I blasted her roots with a blow-dryer to give extra volume to anchor the updo. Once the roots were mostly dry, I begin a typical blowout, by sectioning off her hair and going over it with Olivia Garden’s Ceramic + Ion Thermal Round Brush. It’s important when creating a more structural style, to use ceramic based tools that add extra heat to the hair, and help mold and shape the style. Once it was fully dry and ready, I added styling cream from the ears down to not add weight to the crown of her head, but make sure the ends were relaxed, especially after blow-drying.
    4. "Then, I took the very top section of hair at the crown and clipped it away from the rest of the style so that I could focus on molding and shaping the bottom half. Having my top section secured, I brushed the rest of her back with Olivia Garden Style-Up Teasing Brush into a top knot right at the base of the crown, were my first top section was. I used a lot of hairspray to create a clean tight look to the top knot, which was the base of my ponytail.
    5. "Once complete, I took the remaining hair that I sectioned off in the beginning, and back-combed it with Olivia Garden Style-Up Teasing Brush at the root to give the perfect shape at the crown. I secured this section into the top knot with pins. Then, with my prepped hair piece, which was 22 inches long, I wrapped it around the top knot and secured with pins again.
    6. "To finish off the look, I worked styling cream into the long ponytail to smooth hair and add shine. I sectioned that off into two and twisted each section down the length of the pony. At certain points I used a clear elastic to secure the twist. With bobby pins, I then pinned the hair down at other points to finish the sculpted look."

    3. Create a middle part and wrap small sections of hair around a 1-inch curling iron.
    4. Once all the hair is in waves, use a flat iron to gently flatten the waves especially towards the ends yet keep the softness and volume up top. There should be no roundness at the ends.
    5. Spray Macadamia Professional Style Extend Dry Shampoo at the crown for a dry texture finish and use Macadamia Professional Weightless Moisture Dry Oil Micro Mist from the mid-lengths to ends to create definition and shine.
