Wella Students Win Big

Wella school students took the top two spots at the 2010 Sassoon Academy/School Connection (SASC) Cut and Color Contest, held at the ISSE show in Long Beach, California.

Lydia Mikal, of the Wella Signature School Bellus Academy in San Diego, took home first place, a five-day ABC Cutting Course at the Sassoon Academy in London. Kayla Skaggs from Wella Signature School Honors Beauty in Indianapolis, IN, received a five-day ABC Cutting Course at the new Sassoon Academy in Chicago and a $500 education voucher for her second-place win.

All prizes for this year’s contest were contributed by the Wella Signature School Program. In addition to her prize, Mikal was awarded a trip to NYC to attend the U.S. Wella Trend Vision Competition this fall, and will also be automatically entered in the Trend Vision competition, giving her a chance to compete in the Wella International Trend Vision event in Paris.

The second annual Cut and Color Contest, hosted by Nuts and Bolts and The Sassoon Academy, was held in conjunction with the International Salon and Spa Expo at the Long Beach Convention Center. The top 10 finalists were chosen from almost 1,000 students from across North America!
