Wella Professionals Announces 2015 NATVA Winners

On Sunday July 19, 2015, contestants from the United States and Canada and top hair professionals from across North America came together for an unforgettable evening at The ARIA Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV. Over 2,000 guests cheered for the 44 finalists competing for the Gold, Silver and Bronze in each of the Student, Young Talent and Color categories. Taking Gold for the U.S. were Katie Manselle in Color, Alisha Basham in Young Talent and Julie Richard in Student. Taking home top honors for Canada were Ilona Garson in Color, Paige Ingram in Young Talent and Angelica Grasso in Student. The North American gold winners of the 2015 North America Trend Vision Awards,Katie Manselle of Raleigh, NC (Color Category), and Alisha Basham of Eugene, OR (Young Talent) will join Canadian winners, Ilona Garson of Ottawa, ON (Color Category) and Paige Ingram of Vancouver, BC (Young Talent) on their way to represent the U.S. and Canada at the International Trend Vision Awards, staged in Berlin on November 22, 2015.

During the live competition, finalists from the United States and Canada demonstrated their skill set and creativity in hopes of being crowned one of hairdressing's rising stars of the future. Finalists brought their artistic interpretations to life for a panel of leading industry experts. This year’s star-studded panel of judges included Whitney Port, Tabatha Coffey, Andy LeCompte, Eden Sassoon, Oscar Blandi and Frank Marasco. Judges evaluated each look based on criteria specific to the finalists’ category (Student, Young Talent or Color) critiquing overall look, technique and creative expression.

In addition to the live competition and awards, the evening showcased an inspiring lineup of artistic presentations from some of the best hairdressing talent the industry has to offer. D&J Ambrose presented the Urban Camouflage collection for Wella Professionals, Sebastian Professionals Creative Directors Shay Dempsey and Michael Polsinelli showcased their new collection Metamorphik and Sassoon Academy’s Mark Hayes, Traci Sakosits and Richie Rivera’s showcased three collections, Yeah Yeah!, Dekadenz and Gothique, gave the North American audience a show to remember.
