John Nosek, President of Kao USA, has announced that Trevor Attenborough has been named new President & General Manager of Kao USA, Salon.  As of June 1, 2012, Attenborough will replace Cory Couts, who has been promoted Global President of Kao Group, Salon. Attenborough’s responsibilities include leading and growing the prestigious Goldwell and KMS California professional hair care brands in the United States.

Attenborough has been an executive with Kao Professional Salon Services, Inc. for the past 3 years, most recently as Vice President of Marketing and Sales Support. “I am certain Trevor’s targeted vision and leadership qualities will play a significant role in the future growth and ongoing success of our professional business. His deep understanding of the market and the Goldwell and KMS California brands, as well as his commitment to the hairdressing community, provides him an exceptional foundation from which he will propel the company forward. On behalf of the company, I wish to congratulate Trevor on his new role,” commented Nosek.

Attenborough’s history and dedication towards the professional beauty industry has deep roots. For over 24 years, he has been an industry executive with companies such as Wella, Nioxin and Alberto Culver. Throughout his career, Attenborough has been the driving force behind many successful industry initiatives. Recently, he led the efforts to create the Goldwell “You Can’t Get Supernatural from a Supermarket” campaign, which underscores the brand’s commitment to salons and stylists.

“It is an honor to lead the Kao USA Salon business. Our commitment to the hairdressing community is our highest priority and we will continually demonstrate this through our close partnerships, innovative product portfolio and direct involvement with salons and stylists. It is a privilege to work with our team of respected industry veterans who embrace the unique nature of our business and the importance of building solid relationships.  As my personal family are hairdressers I understand —and am passionate and committed to—our industry and its ongoing success,” commented Attenborough.
