Hair care brand Eufora recently hosted its first annual Beards and Brews event, a Heroic Happy Hour to honor veterans and active duty troops. Held at Eufora Headquarters, the special event offered complimentary haircuts and beard trims, courtesy of the San Diego education team. The night was filled with great hair-styling, good food, new friends and some killer music.
OPI partnered with Jeremy Scott to create a unique nail look for the designer’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2015 runway show at Milk Studios on Wednesday, September 10. Lead nail artist Miss Pop worked with the designer’s beachy, hippie inspiration to create colorful patterned nails that accented the collection’s vibrant prints.
Luxury streetwear designer Devon Halfnight Leflufy’s Spring/Summer 2015 collection was filled with sporty separates in fresh and bold prints. Lead hairstylist Joey George for R+Co created two looks with a California vibe to complement the clothes. For the longer haired models, he gave them a strong center part with laid-back, straight hair and an off-center part for the short-haired models.
For the Jack Spade Spring/Summer 2015 collection, Design Director Todd Magill took a more modern approach than in previous years and found inspiration in men in big cities and that moment of transition when they're running from the office to the gym or out to meet friends. "These are the clothes the guy in an urban environment needs," Magill explained. "I've been calling it 'urban utility.'" To complement the collection, Magill and stylist Deborah Watson worked with R+Co's Thom Priano to craft a look that was modern and groomed but still classic and relaxed.
As the lights dimmed in Milk Studios Sunday morning, September 7th, the illustrious crowd that had gathered to view the highly anticipated Public School Spring/Summer 2015 Men’s and Women’s Collections, were treated to an electric live performance from Twin Shadow as models began to make their way down the runway. Anna Wintour, André Leon Talley, will.i.am, Princess Deena Aljuhani Abdulaziz, Joe Jonas and Miguel were among those sitting in the front row to view the latest creations by the young brand’s designers Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne.
The inspiration behind the hair looks at BAJA EAST's Spring/Summer 2015 show at New York Fashion Week was, according to lead stylist Kevin Ryan, "A young man/woman that is well-traveled, with a strong nod to Peter Lindbergh's tomboys and girls. The feel is that the hair started with a slick, groomed style [for men] or a pristine blow dry [for women] which has become undone just by living life to the fullest. The hair's texture has an oil and water effect - a mix of dry and sleek textures."
