Sneak Peek: Stella McCartney's Autumn 2014 Collection Hairstyles

For the Stella McCartney Autumn 2014 presentation in New York City, Aveda Global Creative Director Antoinette Beenders drew inspiration from Stella's older sister's love of the London first generation punk scene to create a "soft, model-off-duty look with a bit of an edge."

Says Beenders, "To create a foundation of beautiful, healthy hair, I used an Aveda prep product specific to each model's hair texture and condition needs. We put short hair up in a loose, undone chignon and kept long hair down with a 'barely-there' wave created by twirling sections of hair and letting it set with a little heat. We completed ear look by tousling and running Aveda Dry Remedy Moisturizing Oil through hair for extra moisture and shine."
Get the Look:
1. Section hair and prep according to texture and condition. Use Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair to repair and strengthen hair, or use Smooth Infusion Style Prep to smooth hair and help tackle humidity. Use Pure Abundance Style Prep on fine hair to boost volume.

2. For the long look: twirl small pieces of hair from the back section first, heat with a blow dryer and let set. Repeat on front 2 sections of hair.
For the short look: guide hair away from face and secure into ponytail just above nape of neck with millinery elastic. Twirl ponytail around elastic and pin in place. Let shorter pieces of hair stay free for a more undone appearance.

3. For the long look: gently tousle and run Dry Remedy Moisturizing Oil through hair. Run fingers through the short look with the oil starting at temples and finishing at elastic.

4. Finish both looks with a light misting of Aveda Air Control Hair Spray all over for a strong but barely-there hold.

PRO TIP: For hair that needs more moisture, incorporate Dry Remedy Moisturizing Shampoo and Dry Remedy Moisturizing Conditioner into haircare routine in addition to Dry Remedy Moisturizing Oil.
