Camila Alves

Kristin Heitkotter (Tracey Mattingly) styled Camila Alves for the 2015 SAG Awards on January 25, 2015 in Los Angeles. Heitkotter styled Alves’ hair using Keratherapy products, which work well for Camila as she has super coarse, dry hair. Camila wore her hair down with one side pushed back behind her ear and a loose wave throughout.

Get the Look:
1. Before blow-drying Camila’s hair, Kristin sprayed Keratherapy Leave-In Conditioner throughout. According to Kristin, this product made Camila's "very curly," difficult-to-blow-dry strands smooth and shiny.

2. Next, Kristin applied Keratherapy's heat-activated Daily Smoothing Cream to seal the cuticle and eradicate frizz while shielding hair from damage. She used a large, 3-inch, round brush to blow-dry the hair.

3. After the hair was completely dry, Kristin sprayed Keratherapy Rapid Rescue to hydrate hair before curling sections with a 1 ½-inch curling iron, then pinned each section and let cool for 10 minutes.

4. She then ran 1 pump of Keratherapy Argan Oil through Camila’s ends for added red-carpet shine and finished off with Keratherapy’s Perfect Hold Hairspray. She pushed Camila’s hair to the side behind her ear, and applied more Perfect Hold Hairspray to set the look. [pagebreak]

PREP: products used to start/enhance

-  Foundation is key when creating a style that needs to last all day. Starting wet, cocktailed (mixed) Matrix StyleLink Heat Buffer, Turbo Dryer and Volume Builder to create volume at the root during the blowout, while protecting the integrity of the hair.

PLAY: products used to create/experiment

-  Once dry, use a nickel-sized dollop of Matrix StyleLink Height Riser, and Matrix StyleLink Texture Builder spray throughout.  Creating texture and grit, with a matte finish was the goal.

-  Begin knotting, twisting, and piecing her mohawk from the crown down the back. Bobby pins with the pre-existing texture create a hold that will last all day.

-  The added drama and height in the front is created with subtle backcombing a bit more of the Matrix StyleLink Texture Builder spray.  I wanted a messy, wind swept, piecey look.

PERFECT: products used to finish/perfect

-  Once you've achieved a look you love, a bit of Matrix StyleLink Shape Switcher can also be used to create more definition and separation of any ends left out.

-  Also, starting with hair that is well cared for is key. Use Matrix Biolage Cleansing Conditioner.  This soap-free cleanser, without sulfates, parabens, or silicones is great for daily use.  It won't strip your hair of natural oils, or it's color!

“Creating a style that's red carpet ready, one that lasts from the pre-party to the after party, is only as good as the product cocktail it's created with.  I love the soon-to-be released StyleLink line from Matrix.  It allows you to personalize a solution for every hair type.  This line, along with the new Cleansing Conditioner from Biolage as a daily routine, gives you a perfect canvas on which to create show-stopping looks!  From prep to style to hold - Biolage and StyleLink have you covered!” [pagebreak]

Maisie Williams:

Celebrity makeup artist Kindra Mann worked with Maisie Williams for the 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday, January 25th in Los Angeles, CA.

BEAUTY INSPIRATION:

"We decided to go for an effortless yet polished look.  The playful tea length of Maisie's Self Portrait dress was the perfect complement to the loose undone bun we created for the hair tonight."

GET THE LOOK:

“I prepped Maisie's skin using Murad Oil Control Mattifier Lotion and then used Kevyn Aucoin The Primed Skin Developer as a primer on the skin.  I used a Beauty Blender to buff into the skin Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation in #4.  Where I wanted a little more coverage, I used Kevyn Aucoin The Sensual Skin Enhancer in #5.  I set everything using Tarte Smooth Operator Pressed Powder in Light.  Just under the eyes I used Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder.

I contoured and highlighted Maisie's skin using Charlotte Tilbury FIlmstar Bronze & Glow.  I added a pop of color to the cheeks using La Prairie Cellular Radiance Cream Blush in Rose Glow.

We did a really fun gold sparkly eye tonight to play off her eye color. I began by brushing her eyebrows into shape using Tarte Colored Clay Tinted Brow Gel in Medium Brown. I then prepped the eyelids using NARS Pro-Prim Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base.  Next I buffed onto the lid (using a fluffy brush) Chanel Illusion D'Ombre Eyeshadow in Initiation.  Using my ring finger, I gently tapped onto the cream shadow Charlotte Tilbury The Dolce Vita Gold Shimmer Shadow to add extra sparkle. I then went in and applied a little bit of Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Eyeliner in Black just to the outer corners of the eyes. I finished off the eyes by swiping a few coats of Kevyn Aucoin The Volume Mascara in Black to the lashes and then aded a few Ardell short lashes in black.

I used Temptu Color True Lipstick in Plush Plum on Maisie's lips.  This was the perfect berry color that gave a beautiful stained look to the lips.

I set the entire look using Urban Decay All Nighters Makeup Spray."  [pagebreak]
Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting:

BEAUTY INSPIRATION:

"We decided on a clean and simple look for Kaley tonight.”

GET THE LOOK:

"I prepped her hair with Oribe Grandiose Mousse and blow dried it forward using my Eco Tools Quick Volume Styler.  I kept a strong side part and directed the bangs off to one side.

I sprayed Batiste Dry Shampoo in the roots to keep the hair in place and to add a little lift. I finished with a vail of Oribe Superfine Hairspray." [pagebreak]
Maggie Gyllenhaal:

Celebrity hairstylist Matthew Monzon created the look for Maggie Gyllenhaal for the 2015 Screen Actor Guild Awards using Leonor Greyl products.

“Starting with damp hair, I combed through Leonor Greyl  Mousse au Lotus Volumatrice and combed  inconsistent wave patterns though out the hair.  I then dried the hair using a diffuser attachment with my dryer in order to lock in the wave pattern while drying.

Once dry, I took about a quarter size of Leonor Greyl Éclat Naturel emulsified in my hands to break up the waves and create texture with random pieces.  I then finished the look with Leonor Greyl Voluforme hairspray.” [pagebreak]
LAVERNE COX

Pulling the Laverne Cox's look together was her beautiful hairstyle fit for a queen  by Celebrity Stylist Ursula Stephen. “Laverne and I decided that we wanted to break the rules a bit, said Ursula. “We didn't want to do the typical up do because she was wearing a gown. We wanted to bring some sex appeal to this elegant gown.”
