Runway Report: Sunkissed Glamour at Mario De La Torre

Natural Look

The bright lights descended on West Hollywood last week, not for film, but fashion! L.A.’s finest dressed to the nines in celebration of the event, taking front row at The Pacific Design Center. A perfect representation of LA beauty, the make-up at Mario De La Torre’s show screams California. The look is, “dewy, natural, glow-y with a bronzy eye. It’s beautiful see-through skin,” explains Shyann Swisher, Key Beauty and Co-Beauty Director, alongside Sharon Gault. To get this fresh look, she uses NARS Cream Eyeshadow Mykonos, on lids. No liner is used, but she applies one coat of L’oreal Voluminous Mascara. To give models youthful skin, Embryollisse Lait Crème Concentre mixes with NYX Liquid Illuminator; this creates a nice glow in the highlight of the cheekbone. Lips are equally sunkisssed, as Embryolisse Stick Protecteur Reparateur combines with a hint of Anastasia Beverly Hills Waterproof Crème Color. Embryolisse Rosewater Toner, which doubles as a setting spray, completes the golden sunshine look.

Knotted Bun

Hair at Mario De La Torre complements make-up; the style is touchable voluminous, glamour. The inspiration is, “glam and structured to the front, very carved,” says Sylvia J. Stankowski, Key Hair for Kaz Amor’s VoCe Haircare. To achieve this classic Hollywood update, Sylvia curls hair throughout, using an iron by Enzo Milano Pro. To both create and set each curl, Sylvia layers VoCe Touch Me Hairspay heavily. Finally, she brushes her careful curls out, to get the soft look that makes this style so 2016.
