Recreate This 70s-Inspired Makeup Look

One of the biggest trends of 2016 so far is the 70s revival - seen in everything from fashion to beauty. Bodyography Professional Cosmetics Creative Director, Lori Leib, drew inspiration from this trend during a recent collaboration with designer Maria Stanley in creating a new lookbook for spring 2016.

Seventies makeup can be distinctly dated, however. When Maria said she wanted blue shadow and orange lips for the shoot, Lori initially cringed. But with Maria's inspiration of the ethereal, yet bold and classic, but with a modern twist, Lori was able to mix a multitude of shades together for the perfect look. The end result? A soft, fashionable look with a nod to 70s glamour. Recreate the retro look with Lori's how-to, below!

How-To:

  1. “I kept the skin really natural and fresh using a small pump of Bodyography Hydrating Primer (launching June 2016) and Silk Cream Compact Foundation, only where needed," says Lori.
  2. "Sun Sculpt Bronzer and Highlighter Duo was lightly added around the face to add dimension and a subtle glow to the skin, while Bashful Blush was added to the apples for a slight peach flush.
  3. "We kept brows feathery and slightly filled in with Essential Brow Trio where necessary and, for the lids, we mixed together Laguna and Vivid Expressions and added a light coat of mascara.
  4. "For the perfectly peachy-orange lips, we mixed together a selection of our Electric Lip Slides and an orange pigment.”
