The collection captures the effervescence and brightness so typical of the ’80s. “I wanted to team real and unreal; sparkle and glam with shiny plastic,” relates Doughty. “I always love seeing pops of color, and I’m constantly looking for creative ways to drop them into hair!”

Doughty says that she toyed with the overall color scheme and “messed about with horizontal placement” in order to demonstrate that bold colors can suit nearly anybody. “My philosophy is that anyone can wear any haircolor—it’s all in the placement and in the tones that you use,” she states.
