Pampering with a Purpose: Bellus Academy to Support Cancer Survivors on June 2nd

Cancersurvivorsupportday

Fundraising and fingertips are coming together to support a good cause on Tuesday, June 2, at Bellus Academy campuses in Poway, National City, and El Cajon. Throughout the day, Bellus Academy students will celebrate Cancer Survivor Beauty and Support Day by polishing the nails of cancer fighters, survivors, friends and family members in a “lilac survivor” shade. In addition, Bellus Academy will donate 25% of proceeds from all of its salon services including hair, esthetics, and massage to the Cancer Survivor Beauty and Support Day Foundation.

More than 14 million Americans are cancer survivors. Cancer Survivor Beauty and Support Day is a prelude to National Cancer Survivor Day celebrated around the world on June 7. This year marks Bellus Academy’s first year of participating in the event. Lynelle Lynch, owner and president of Bellus, said students and staff welcome the event as an opportunity to use their skills to celebrate survivors’ lives and raise awareness of how looking good and feeling good often go hand in hand. “Giving back to the community is a big part of the Bellus culture,” Lynch said. “Showing our support for Cancer Survivor Beauty and Support Day makes sense because we all know someone whose life has been affected by cancer. We are humbled and honored to celebrate the survivors in our communities.”

Complimentary lilac polishes are available by appointment between 9am and 9pm. More information is available at www.bellusacademy.edu.
