Oribe Goes Vogue...Cover, That Is

The man is unstoppable: Oribe continues to be one of American Vogue's mane men, creating the elegantly effortless updo for the November cover featuring Anne Hathaway. "The look we were going for was Audrey Hepburn-inspired with beautiful hair that's soft and easy," he explains. "The shoot was very Parisian. It was shot in Paris with grown-up, sophisticated clothes, and I referenced Alexandre de Paris and the coiffed, beautiful hair he was known for."

To create this look, begin by blowing out the hair, being careful to keep the hair's natural texture. Work in a styling spray (Oribe used his own Soft Lacquer Heat Styling Spray) to beef up texture, and then curl the entire head using a 1-inch curling iron. Brush out the curls, and mist on a texturizing spray (Oribe used his Dry Texturizing Spray) at the roots. Pull the hair up much like you would a ponytail, twist it into itself and secure with pins. "Don't let it get too contrived," Oribe says. "Push the hair around, and pin it to tailor your client's face." Lock in the look with a finishing spray, like Oribe Superfine Strong Hairspray.
