Costello Tagliapietra’s Fall/Winter 2015 collection, presented at New York Fashion Week, was filled with jewel tone colors and sheen fabrics that were feminine, yet structured. Julie Kandalec for essie created a metallic blue nail look to complement the pieces by layering two coats of "aruba blue", creating a flash of color on the runway.

1. Apply one coat of ridge filling base coat to clean, filed nails.
2. Next, apply two coats of aruba blue.
3. Follow with good to go top coat.
Expert tip: ridge filling base coat is an ideal base coat for metallic polish shades, as it will help create an even, perfect canvas.
