NYFW Get the Look: Double Braids at Ostwald Helgason by Ramona Eschbach

While prints and colors have been a longtime staple for the London-based fashion line Ostwald Helgason, the Spring/Summer 2015 collection exuded a utilitarian influence, which added structure to the all-over geometric patterns. To complement the uniform-inspired pieces, key hairstylist Ramona Eschbach for Oribe Hair Care decided to create a look that was “more severe” than what she’s done in past collaborations with the brand. The look was tight to the head and featured two braids visible only from the back. “We like to call them ‘evil braids’ in the back,” said Eschbach. “They’re not perfect, but they’re really, really tight.” Models with shorter hair were given a side part and only one braid.

Get the Look:
1. Create a center part and apply Oribe Royal Blowout Heat Styling Spray to flat-iron the hair.

2. Use Oribe Gel Sérum to smooth and hold the hair tight to the head.

3. Make two braids at the nape of the neck and down the back. Tie each braid with an elastic. Be sure the braids aren't visible in the front.

4. Use Oribe Superfine Strong Hair Spray to finish the look and take away any fly-aways.
