NYFW Get the Look: Backstage with Mirabella Beauty at Crown by Colin King

To complement the elegant, minimalist line and the white, black and gold color palette at the Crown by Colin King Spring/Summer 2015 Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week show, lead makeup artist Brian C. Hawkins created a muted makeup look. The look featured skin with a matte, clean finish and an emphasis on a high pink/peach cheekbone. Lips were muted with pink at the center, contrasting with heavy, dark eyebrows. Eyes featured light mascara and thick eyeliner, with a winged cat eye.

To achieve this look, Hawkins used Mirabella Prime to prepare and even out skin, followed by mineral-based Conceal and Skin Tint Creme to match each model's skin tone. The application of these products was followed by Pure Press, a pressed mineral powder foundation infused with natural vitamins and minerals, in a shade one lighter than each model's skin tone.

For the cheeks, Hawkins used Blush Colour Duo in Blissful as a base to create a high cheekbone effect. This product was layered with Glowing Coral Brilliant Mineral Highligher, an illuminator featuring prismatech technology to give skin a soft, flattering glow.

Eyes were left nude (no eye shadow), and lashes were given a light coat of Lash Essential Mascara. Magic Marker Eyeliner was used to create a heavy line on both the upper and lower lids, with a winged cat eye on each upper lid. With long-lasting, intense color in a brush-tipped eye liner marker, Magic Marker is idea for achieving this look.

Lips were powdered out and then feathered lightly at the center with new Colour Vinyl Lipstick in Pink Polish.
