NYFW Fall 2013 Makeup: Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics

Makeup artist Valerie Hernandez for Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics created the make up look
Creating looks for Diego Binetti's Fall 2013 collection was inspired by a combination of punk rock goth and gritty industrial glamour. My vision was to complement his collection with a clean romantic approach not only with colors but the manner in which they were applied.
er of the look. Followed by Distortion which is an intense midnight metallic blue to deepen the hue and give it a romantic goth feel. The eyelid area was brushed with just a wash of color using Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Cream Colour Concentrate in Trick, a perfect convertible neutral brown shade that can be used alone or underneath any of Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Loose Colour Concentrates.

Skin: Skin prep is extremely important when it comes to beautiful makeup application which is why Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics OCC Tint and Conceal sets are extremely important in my kit. Every model was prepped with an industry standard favorite facial moisturizer by the name of Embryolisse. For an additional boost of color I used OCC Tint in Y2 a perfect yellow base which neutralizes any unwanted pink or red undertones.... Skin focus was clean, healthy skin.  I also minimized any unwanted blemishes by using Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Conceal which are incredibly pigmented but not heavy, they mimic actual skin texture so they look very natural.

One of Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics new Lip Tar Stained Glosses in WN: Blackberry, was applied to just the center pout area of the lip giving the look a very playful yet romantic approach to wearing darker wine tones on the lips. One of Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics newest Metallic Lip Tars in Pris was used to neutralize the remaining lip area.

hide any blemishes and brighten any under eye discoloration.

Black (WN) Creme Colour Concentrate  was swept across the lid and blended into the crease with Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics #004 as a base for our Black Pure Cosmetic Pigment, which was packed onto the lid with Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics #006 Brush. A taupe eyeshadow was applied in the crease with Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics #004 brush to create a gradient between the brow bone and eyelid and a Conceal color one shade lighter than the girls skin tone was brushed onto the brow bone as a highlighter with Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics #004 Brush. Top and bottom waterline were smudged with a Black Khol Pencil (unreleased) and Black Pure Cosmetic Pigment was packed on top to set it with Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics #009 Angled Brush. Black Mascara was the final touch for the eyes, applied on both the top and bottom lashes.

For cheeks, we tapped a mixture of both Grandma and Trick Creme Colour Concentrates into the apples of the cheeks to create a pop of color amidst the smoldering eyes.

Lips were applied with Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics #010 Precision Lip Brush and the girls wore either Hush Lip Tar or a rich browned out burgundy Lip Tar to be released in Fall 2013
