NYFW Fall 2013 Hairstyles: Carmen Marc Valvo

Ted Gibson Beauty sponsored the hair for Carmen Marc Valvo’s Fall 2013 show at Lincoln Center.  Senior Stylist Devin Toth comments:

This look that Ted and I created is called “Baroque Punk”. It was inspired by the black embellished look of Carmen’s collection. Aside from a few pops of color, the collection is very dark, but not gaudy so we thought this gelled back style with a pop of color on the ends added a touch of rock and roll and made the look fresh for Carmen’s first show at the tents in Lincoln Center. To achieve this look, I first flat ironed the hair to give it an elongated texture. Next, mixing fix it gel and tame it shine lotion in my hands, I ran it through the hair and pulled it back into a high ponytail using a bungee. While the hair was setting in the ponytail, I used fuchsia hair color chalk to create a gradient color effect from mid lengths to ends. To lock in the color, the hair was sprayed with beautiful hold hairspray. After the hair set, I removed the bungee, leaving an uncontrived indentation in the hair. Right before the models walked down the runway I tousled the hair with more hairspray. The look is sexy, dark, young and still gibson girl gorgeous!
