Wella Professionals Trend Report: 2012 People's Choice Awards
The 2012 People’s Choice Awards turned into a beauty face-off as America’s beloved A-listers showcased two prominent trends on the red carpet.
Overall, all of the leading ladies seemed to look relentlessly beautiful without even trying, much like how Celebrity Stylist Andy LeCompte had predicted that we should expect to see lots of “glamorous, bouncy blowouts” that are “perfect red carpet hair” this season - otherwise known as the Wella Professionals 2012 Trend, “Grace.”
While subtle simplicity, warm tones and natural beauty were reigning themes, there was a clear divide between the multi-dimensional, wavy blondes and the super sleek, lustrous brunettes.
Host Kaley Cuoco, Miley Cyrus, Faith Hill, and Julianne Hough all demonstrated the modern yet wildly feminine look - the gradual, three-dimensional color mixed with soft waves gave these ladies maximum definition that left them with a look that was far from forced yet extremely luxurious. LeCompte recommends using Wella Professionals Thermal Image on dry hair before curling for just the right amount of hold. Using a heat-protectant spray such as this one also keeps your hair looking and feeling healthy after repetitive heat usage.
On the other hand, Lea Michele, Nina Dobrev, Whitney Cummings, and Shay Mitchell demonstrated effortless elegance of a whole different kind – straight strands in cool brown shades. This look, also tied to the Grace trend, is inspired by nature even though there is nothing natural about this look. Fluid texture, volume and a premium finish that is understated and pure. As Wella Color Ambassador Aura Friedman puts it, “This look allows one’s haircolor to speak volumes!” Try Wella Professionals Enrich Straightening Balm, applied before you blow-dry, to achieve this look.
