Nine Bellus Academy representatives, including students and educators, have been selected as semi-finalists in the United States TrendVision 2017 Awards competition.

In the “Creative” competition, four Bellus Academy educators have been selected as semi-finalists. They are: Todd Da Silva, Shea Wiegland, Kaitlin Butler, and Adrian de La Parra. Educators Dorothy Wrightsman and Mattew Horn are semifinalists in the “Color” competition, and three Bellus Academy students, Julianna DeMaria, Matthew Stradling and Luero Adame Luna, are the 2017 TrendVision finalists, .

Recognized as the industry’s most prestigious hair coloring and styling competition, the competition highlights the nation’s most inspiring talent across three categories – student, creative and color. Remarking on Bellus Academy’s success, owner Lynelle Lynch said competition is a distinguishing element of the Bellus Academy experience. “From their first day of class, Bellus Academy students focus on developing skills and building confidence through participation in industry competitions,” she said.

“Our educators consistently enter competitions. Not only do these competitions provide an opportunity to perpetually push a hairstylist’s creative boundaries, but they provide invaluable networking opportunities with brands, distributors and other hairstylists.” She added that educator Matt Hom was previously honored as a “Gold” winner in the 2012 competition and more recently, student Matthew Stradling was selected as a Leo Passage Scholarship Winner. Stradling’s talent was displayed on stage during the Beauty Changes Lives Experience at America’s Beauty Show held earlier this year in Chicago.

The national TrendVision 2017 finals will be held July 23 in Los Angeles.
