April, 2007Metropolis Now, the latest collection from Vidal Sassoon, takes its inspiration from such sleek and modern manmade structures as Frank Gehry’s Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Koolhaas’ Seattle Library and Calatrava’s Fordham Spire.

“We are working with flat, angled panels of hair which evoke both a flower’s petals and the intricate sectioning of a Calatrava building,” explains Mark Hays, international creative director for Vidal Sassoon and leader of the Sassoon International Creative Team. “This is about being inspired by modern architects doing extraordinary things that can be translated into incredible hair designs.”
