Reason I became a hairstylist:
I became a hairstylist, because that is where my passion lies. I love the creation and transformation of something that is ordinary into something extraordinary. I have the power to change lives and uplift the spirits of those I touch. The impact I have on others is what keeps me going, whether it's behind the chair or in inspiring my peers with the images I create.
Best advice I would give to a new hairstylist starting out:
Stay out of backroom drama and avoid negative coworkers. They can suck you in before you even know what's happening, and you will find yourself uninspired and stagnant. NEVER stop learning. Even if you can't afford to take expensive advanced training, watch videos, read articles and find new inspiration every day to keep yourself current and motivated. No one is responsible for your growth and relevance in our industry but you!
