Makeup artist Joanne Adolfo shares her tips from this Frida Kahlo inspired photo shoot with photographer Rachel Jeraffi. Joanne explains, "She had very stoic facial expressions and vibrant color palettes. However, the makeup remained simple."
To add a modern, high-fashion twist, Joanne highlighted the model's face with Kevyn Aucoin's "candlelight." This gave a dew effect. Keeping the look relevant & modern, Joanne decided to keep a strong brow, without Frida's signature unibrow. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Palette in Ebony was used.
"For the soft smokey eye, I used Smashbox's Fade Out palette," says Joanne. She adds, "For flawless skin, I used Koh Gen Doh's Aqua Foundation."
For some umph to the lips, a gorgeous purple hue was created by mixing "Uncontrollable" & "Unforgettable" Gleam Lip Radiance by Melanie Mills.The purple hue was selected to accentuate the model's gorgeous green eyes.
