John Paul Mitchell Systems Announces Jason Yates as New VP of Marketing

John Paul Mitchell Systems announced that Jason Yates will serve as its new vice president of marketing. Taking over from Robert Yates (no relation to Jason Yates), who is retiring as the senior vice president of marketing, Jason Yates will be overseeing the marketing division at John Paul Mitchell Systems, and will play a key role in product development for the company.

Yates brings more than 20 years of leadership experience working on all sides of the professional hair industry, beginning behind the chair as a hairdresser in England and as an international platform artist. At the Jon English HairSpa chain of salons, Yates managed the salons and oversaw the training of the educators, sales team and artists after beginning as an apprentice. In 2001, Yates was named the artistic director for Farouk Systems, where he led product development, developed the education curriculum, and oversaw the sales team and artists. Yates’ role at Farouk Systems further grew, with the company appointing him as the vice president of sales and marketing. In this role, Yates brought the knowledge, expertise and insight gained as a hairdresser to direct the marketing and sales teams to effectively connect with hairdressers, helping drive growth for the company.

“We are delighted to welcome Jason Yates to John Paul Mitchell Systems to lead the continued growth of our product lines,” said John Paul DeJoria, JPMS co-founder and CEO. “We are so fortunate to have found someone with a multi-faceted background like Jason’s. In addition to his experience leading sales and marketing teams, Jason’s background as a hairdresser and platform artist will be especially invaluable as we continue to innovate and positively impact the professional beauty industry and stylists all over the world.”
