Hairstyles How To: Heidi Klum at the Emmys

Runway (and Project Runway) queen Heidi Klum is used to turning heads on the red carpet, and her appearance at the Emmy Awards was no exception. Klum, who was nominated for Project Runway, exuded Old Hollywood elegance with her flowy seafoam gown and soft, shiny waves. “I was inspired by French fashion photographer Guy Bourdin, whose models always looked so glamorous,” Oribe says. “This look is new for Heidi because it is so soft and easy.”

Q & A WITH ORIBE:

How long did it take you to create the look?
We were planning the style for two weeks. It took about an hour and a half to complete the day of the event.

What was it like working with Heidi Klum?
Heidi is always incredible to work with, and the fact that she was nominated made it that much more special. She was so calm and fun to be around—it was a spectacular experience.

GET THE LOOK:

•Blow out hair with Volumista Mist for Volume and a round brush.
•Spray sections of hair with Soft Lacquer Heat Styling Spray and use a curling iron to create pin curls.
•Once curls have cooled, release them and brush them out with a Mason Pearson. Mist with Imperméable Anti-Humidity Spray for workable hold and protection against the elements.
•Pin one side back slightly to keep it off the face and show off statement earrings.
•Set the whole look with Superfine Hair Spray to keep it in place from the red carpet to the after parties.
