Hair News: Raw Organics Launches the Melanie A. Nickels Nutz & Boltz Foundation

Raw Hair Organics, Raw Curls and Rodz Grooming for Men founder, Melanie Nickels, recently announced the company’s new charity: The Melanie A. Nickels Nutz & Boltz Foundation. The mission of the foundation is to provide free mobile men’s health and cancer screenings, such as prostate and testicular cancer exams, throughout the country, including sporting events, car races, car and motorcycle events and more. The mobile screening would also be available to underserved and underprivileged communities.

Melanie Nickels has a very personal, heartfelt interest in ensuring men have access to free medical screenings and alternatives to chemical-based styling and grooming products. Her husband, Ken, was diagnosed with cancer several years ago and, thanks to expert medical care and drastic lifestyle changes, he leads a healthy, active life today. The pair’s lifestyle changes included eliminating anything from their lives that could compromise his recovery – especially food, skin and personal care products that contained chemicals.

A percentage of the profits from Rodz Grooming for Men will go the Nutz & Boltz Foundation. “It was important to me to start a charity that actively offers help (not just awareness) for men. When going through my husband’s cancer, we found out there is a huge need,” says Nickels.

The Melanie A. Nickels Nutz and Boltz Foundation is a 501C3 non-profit organization. Tax-deductible donations can be made to: The Nutz & Boltz Foundation, P.O. Box 152804, Cape Coral, FL 33915.
