Hair News: Kao Announces Changes in Global and U.S. Education Teams
Cory Couts, Global President of Kao Group, Salon, has announced that John Moroney, current Vice President of Education of Kao USA Inc., Salon, will succeed Debbie Biddle as the new Global VP of Education, effective October 4, 2012, leading education for the Goldwell and KMS California brands worldwide.
Debbie Biddle was with the company for over 20 years and during her tenure had directly impacted the elevation of the previously non-existent Global Education Department to the same level as Sales and Marketing. Couts commented: “The contributions that Debbie has made to country education in her home country of Australia and Global Education for the Salon sector still shine today. She will be sorely missed and we wish her the best of luck in the future.”
Her successor, John Moroney, has a career spanning 25 years in the professional beauty industry, including turns as stylist, platform artist, salon owner and educator. He has spent his entire professional life working to uplift hairstylists and salons. He has worked in all aspects of education, marketing, sales, creative direction and public relations for key industry brands such as Aveda, Sebastian and Wella.
Couts commented, “In the past year leading our education efforts in the USA, John has proven his skills as a top-notch strategist and exceptional leader in the creative yet challenging world of educating and inspiring salons and stylists. Providing cutting-edge education is at the core of all we do and we are confident this vital endeavor will be safe in John’s hands.”
"I am honored to be given the opportunity to lead the global education initiatives for our amazing brands and to join the industry’s most progressive management team. I look forward to the opportunity to partner with stylists worldwide, strive to inspire them and help them to grow their business," says Moroney.
