Hair News: Cut for a Cure Benefits Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

Pon International Salon and Spa of Anaheim Hills, California offered its third annual cut-a-thon charity event called Cut for a Cure on Sunday, September 23, 2012.  Participants from all over made a showing to the Pon International facility to support the cause, donating funds in exchange for salon services.

Topping $2100 in only four hours, proceeds from the Cut for a Cure event have been donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation with 91 cents of every dollar raised going directly toward the foundation’s mission of finding a cure. According the local Anaheim based chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, support is critical now, more than ever before, because a cure for this disease is on the horizon.

When asked about the success of the event and the participation involved, salon co-owner, Mary Jean Galvez said, “We would like to thank everybody who offered their support and made donations for our event. We even have a few kids who have been stricken with Cystic Fibrosis and their families were there to offer support too. It was very touching! There is such a great need for support that we will continue to raise funds through other events throughout the year.”

Co-owner Pon Saradeth added, ”Our dedicated staff here at Pon International worked hard all day, donating their time and talent to help out. We’re so proud of our team and to be part of such a great cause.”
