Hair Cuttery Announces Great American Hair Show Winners

Hair Cuttery, the largest family-owned and operated chain of hair salons in the country, has announced the winners of the Great American Hair Show. The styling competition received hundreds of entries from candidates looking to be named the next great stylist in America.

Winners were announced in each of four competition categories. The best cut winner is Cicely Powell-Hodge of Orlando, FL; the best color winner is Amy Crump of Prince George, VA; the best male sculpting winner is Megan Ingraham of Warminster, PA; and the best special event style winner is Branden Miller of York, PA.

"The work of these four stylists stood out among the hundreds of impressive submissions we received from across the country," said Dennis Ratner, Founder and CEO of Ratner Companies, which owns Hair Cuttery. "As a stylist myself, I recognize the skill and passion that went into each of the winning styles shown during the competition."

The competition began February 1, with both professional stylists and amateur hair enthusiasts invited to submit their best styles in each category by March 15. Fans voted for their favorite styles at www.greatamericanhairshow.com to narrow each category down to three finalists. The finalists then competed in a second round of competition in which they created videos demonstrating their technique with specific styles in each category. Final winners were selected by Hair Cuttery judges and popular vote.

The winners in each category were announced on the Hair Cuttery website. Though the competition was open to all participants, the winners are all stylists at Hair Cuttery salons. Cicely is a stylist at the Hair Cuttery in the salon at Hunter's Creek Shoppes in Orlando, FL; Amy works in the salon in Southpark Mall in Colonial Heights, VA; Megan works in the salon located in the Marketplace at Huntingdon Valley in PA; and Branden works in the salon inside York Town Center in PA.

Each winner will receive a $500 cash gift card, $500 worth of styling products and a plaque naming them the 2012 Great American Hair Show Stylist of the Year. Hair Cuttery will also feature the winning stylists on its Facebook page, Twitter feed and blog.
