Get the Look: From Bridal Runway to Holiday Chic

Just as fashion designers take cues from every source, from the red carpet to Nature, bridal hair looks inspire the most exquisite evening coifs, just in time for the holidays. For the Alyne by Rita Vinieris/Rita Vinieris Rivini Fall 2016 Bridal Show, which was showcased in the Weill Music Room at legendary Carnegie Hall, Rita Vinieris took inspiration from the transformation of the ethereal glow of a rose garden at twilight to the beauty of the first frost. Working closely with celebrity hairstylist Adrien Flammier, who worked exclusively with a selection of stellar styling products from René Furterer, the two were able to bring this vision to life through not only the strong femininity and grace of the collections, but the play of textures within the hair looks as well.

In discussing her creative collaboration with Adrien, Rita told us, "My beauty direction for Fall 2016 Bridal is to explore the idea of a sculpted and sleek ponytail that is embellished with iridescent crystallization, starting at the nape of the neck and flowing down the ponytail. We chose René Furterer because they understand effortless, modern luxury."

Backstage with his team, Adrien had this to say about the concept for the two hair looks: "A bit sleek and a bit textured. To complement the first collection (Alyne by Rita Vinieris), which features more matte textures, we're going for a more undone ponytail, where the hair on top is slightly chaotic and has more volume. To complement the second collection (Rita Vinieris Rivini), which features more sparkling and glimmering details, the ponytail needed to be much more structured and sleek with a touch of shimmer."

Get the Look: Undone Ponytail with Matte Texture

1. Says Adrien, "I began by applying René Furterer FIORAVANTI shine enhancing no rinse detangling spray to the hair. Then, concentrating on the roots, I saturated the hair all over in sections with René Furterer VOLUMEA volumizing conditioning spray - no rinse.
2. "Next, using my finger as a comb, I created an imperfect, messy right side part, dividing the hair into three sections - one on each side of the head and one on the crown. I then blow-dried the hair straight.
3. "While blow-drying the hair with my fingers, I created a bit of texture, focusing on the top of the head and near the right side part.
4. "I sprayed René Furterer LISSEA thermal protecting smoothing spray on the frizzy pieces of hair to make sure I got the exact texture and look for each models' hair.
5. "Once the hair was dry and straight, I sprayed the top of the head and the roots with new René Furterer VEGETAL TEXTURE SPRAY to create messy volume.
6. "I then created a low ponytail and secured it by wrapping a silver cord with a small section of hair to make it appear messy and a bit different.
7. "Using my hands, I gently pushed some hair forward from out of the base of the ponytail and pulled out a few pieces of hair from each side of the head. This helped form wisps and made the look feel less controlled.
8. "Finally, I spritzed new René Furterer VEGETAL TEXTURE SPRAY all over the hair to give the look a bit more body and hold."

Get the Look: Sleek Ponytail with Sparkle and Shine

1. Says Adrien, "First, I saturated the hair all over with René Furterer VOLUMEA volumizing conditioning spray - no rinse and then, focusing on the hair lengths, sprayed René Furterer FIORAVANTI shine enhancing no rinse detangling spray to give the hair a shiny and sophisticated texture.
2. "Next, I applied palmfuls of René Furterer VOLUMEA volumizing foam - no rinse to the back middle section of the hair.
3. "I then sprayed René Furterer LISSEA thermal protecting smoothing spray to the ends of the hair to protect the hair from the heat of the blow dryer and flat iron.
4. "Using a fine tooth comb, I created a perfect middle part, dividing the hair into three sections - one on each side of the head and one on the crown.
5. "I then blow-dried each section with a flat brush, flattening the hair on the two side sections and teasing the crown to give it a bit of volume.
6. "Once the hair was dry and straight, I sprayed new René Furterer VEGETAL TEXTURE SPRAY all over the hair, which not only added a bit of roughness to the crown, but also helped keep the other sections smooth.
7. "I then gathered the three sections of hair and created a low ponytail, securing it with a silver cord. I wrapped a thin piece of hair from the ponytail around the cord to conceal it.
8. "Next, I used the flat iron to slightly smooth the ponytail out. I sprayed new René Furterer VEGETAL STRONG HOLD FINISHING HAIR SPRAY all over the hair to hold the look.
9. "For the finishing touch, I added translucent, ornamental sparkles and sequins to the base of the ponytail by covering the base with double-sided tape and then using René Furterer VEGETAL SCULPTING GEL. I then sprinkled the sparkles and sequins onto the base and sprayed new René Furterer VEGETAL STRONG HOLD FINISHING HAIR SPRAY to keep them in place for the show.
10. "Right before the show began, I sprayed René Furterer SOLAIRE protective summer oil all over to make the hair look shiny and beautiful."
