Backstage Beauty: Naeem Khan Fall 2015
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of designer Naeem Khan’s work, the Davines, NARS and Essie beauty teams set out to create an overall look that is the “epitome of who the [Naeem Khan] woman has been for 10 years: always glam, always textural and embellished,” says NARS makeup lead James Boehmer. “Glamorous” could be heard on the lips of every backstage beautifier at Khan’s show and, not surprisingly, that very word is the perfect descriptor of the end result.

It’s a journey she leads with her partner in crime, Wendy Bélanger, International Artistic Director for Pureology.

The devil was in the details at Haider Ackermann’s Fall/Winter 2015 collection, which showcased intricate stitching of colorful threads sewn throughout each garment. Wanting to play off these details, Aveda Guest Artist Kamo created a punk rock style complete with threaded needlework in the hair. “This woman is a party girl who has no problem rocking day-after hair from a long night of carousing,” Kamo said. “She isn’t yet hardened by the scene. She still has soft and romantic sensibilities about her.”
