Elvis' Hair Up for Grabs

Aleqm5iwlj SeihtewfcoqpyezcnpfgltqA clump of hair, not much unlike what most of us New Yorkers find stuck in our sink drains (how does this happen?), is finding its way onto the auction block. This hair isn't your typical run-of-the-mill scraps swept up at the end of a long day of cutting; this is The King's hair. Yup, that King.

According to the Associated Press, Elvis' hair, believed to be procurred from a buzz cut he underwent during his stint in the Army, is being put up for auction at Leslie Hindman Auctioneers in Chicago. The owner of the clippings, Gary Pepper, passed away in 1980 and left his Elvis memorabilia to his nurse, who is now unloading the strands and hoping the going price for the King's lucious black locks could net her anywhere from $8,000 to $12,000. Quite a high price-tag for the hair most stylists often find plaguing their chairs and workstations!

Tell us: Would you pay $12,000 for Elvis' hair?
