Multidimensional
Looking for more than mere words? You’re in luck! These sites contain music, videos, podcasts, customizable collateral and more. Rest assured: You definitely won’t fall asleep at your computer anytime soon.
Show and Tell
Need some quick info at your fingertips? Well, guess what—sexyhair.com features a podcast that enables you to watch the Sexy Hair pros at work, even when you’re on the go. The site also includes video footage of spokesperson Katherine McPhee plus the latest info on anything and everything Sexy Hair. And you’ll love the company’s partnership with rock band Close to Home; simply click on a link to hear its music. “We like the idea of featuring entrepreneurial, up-and-coming artists on our site because all hairstylists are entrepreneurial, up-and-coming artists themselves,” explains Dev Rice, Sexy Hair communications manager. “We saw a great artistic tie-in for our company with a group of artists that weren’t part of Sexy Hair. Very cool. Very Sexy!”

Art Alive
Turn up the volume and rock out to joico.com. Besides a ton of other awesome features, including Joico’s Rewards program that allows professionals to redeem points from purchases, print shelf-talkers and order posters, the site also emphasizes the growing bridge between stylists and rockers. The “Live from Joico” section not only provides social networking opportunities for consumers and hairdressers, but also showcases the musical talents of various rising artists. “Like hairdressers who creatively express themselves by doing hair, musicians want to inspire people through music,” informs Joico director of communications Patrick O’Keefe. “It also gives enjoyment to anyone who visits joico.com.” Natch!

Mine, Mine, Mine!
Control freaks, we’ve found your ideal match. Redken’s professional-only redkensalon.com features a specialized “My Redken” section, perfect for—who else—you! The newly revamped site contains chic, customizable e-cards; shelf-talkers; and ads to help connect you with your customers. Plus, you can create an address book, making it easy for you to keep all of your VICs (Very Important Clients, that is) in the loop. “Everybody’s really excited about the customizable tools on the site,” enthuses Rachel Weiss, senior director of interactive marketing for Redken. “What’s really great is that it’s so easy to use because everything is in the stylist’s own address book.” And there’s more: Redkensalon.com includes a discussion board where you can give and get advice on the latest cuts and colors from fellow stylists and salon owners.
